Founder of the studio Laboratoire Textile<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Laboratoire Textile is a micro-studio specializing in textile design, founded and run by Lucie Leroux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By combining folding with finishing techniques, she designs and manufactures unique lighting fixtures with clean lines, adorned with hand-made geometric screen prints inspired by minimalist aesthetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From drawing and searching for patterns to developing new folded shapes, his creative process is complex and meticulous, combining craftsmanship, visual arts, and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n


Trained in design and architecture in France, Lucie Leroux began her career in architectural lighting before moving to Montreal, where she discovered textile printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was while working on large-scale projects like the Shanghai World Expo that she began to take an interest in light and patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lecturer at the Atelier Textile and the Centre des Textile Contemporains de Montr\u00e9al, she co-foundeda Collectif Textile<\/a>an inspirational journal about contemporary textile design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After working on costumes for Cirque du Soleil, she has collaborated on several projects from fashion to documentaries, presented throughout Quebec at venues such as the Mus\u00e9e des Beaux Arts de Montr\u00e9al and the Mus\u00e9e de la Civilisation in Quebec City.After working on costumes for Cirque du Soleil, she has collaborated on several projects from fashion to documentaries, presented throughout Quebec at venues such as the Mus\u00e9e des Beaux Arts de Montr\u00e9al and the Mus\u00e9e de la Civilisation in Quebec City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She launched Laboratoire Textile in 2012, a playground where she explores textile design through various research and creative projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combining craftsmanship and new technologies, she places materials at the center of her tactile explorations and light at the center of my visual experiments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
