Today I'd like to introduce you to the place where I print and fold all my pieces, and the surprising link I have with this place steeped in history, which I've been occupying for nearly 2 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1642, Jeanne Mance, Canada's first laic nurse, founded the H\u00f4tel Dieu dispensary, thanks to the financial support of Ang\u00e9lique Faure de Bullion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bullion happens to be the tiny village where I grew up in the French countryside, surrounded by cows, deer and wild boar.\n. <\/a>wild boar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before moving to Montreal in 2009, I had no idea that my childhood village had played such a decisive role in the development of the city I now call home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My little studio is located in the heart of the convent, in the space known as the Coiffe, where the Soeurs Hospitali\u00e8res de Saint Joseph used to have their hair cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It opens directly onto the garden and the chapel that houses the crypt where Jeanne Mance is laid to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An entirely different fauna of marmots, rabbits and cardinals occupy the magnificent walled garden, where you feel completely cut off from the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
