The Canopy Collection print is inspired by observing the shadows of foliage on a shade sail on a summer's afternoon.
These photos were taken in 2018 on a summer afternoon in Sainte Calixte, in the Lanaudière area of Quebec.
The pattern only took shape a few years later from these photos. Screen-printed by hand, the pattern attempts to capture the contrast of the play of shadows.
